Senior Software Engineer Job Description : Volvo Car USA LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a crucial leadership role in developing and implementing innovative solutions for Volvo Cars' global online presence and services. The role involves guiding the team through the entire software development lifecycle, fostering continuous improvement, and mentoring junior developers. Collaboration with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives is essential. What you'll do Minimum Requirements : Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in building, deploying, scaling, and monitoring applications with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. 5 years of experience applying cloud-native principles, designing, implementing, deploying, and managing applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. 5 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a master's or foreign equivalent degree in the same fields with 2 years of relevant experience is acceptable. At least 1 year of experience building scalable, high-performance microservice architectures using Java and Spring Framework. Experience designing and maintaining web applications and APIs (RESTful or GraphQL) for high-traffic, global websites. Experience with databases like MongoDB and Cassandra, including data modeling and security optimization. Experience with load testing, performance tuning, troubleshooting large-scale web applications, and using tools like Elastic Cloud and Prometheus. Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, with frameworks such as React.js, Next.js, or Angular.js. Position reports to the Mahwah, NJ office. Telecommuting is permitted per company policy, but candidates must reside within commuting distance.
