BIOVIA is looking for a motivated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our R&D Quality Engineering team in San Diego, CA - hybrid role. This role will focus on working with BIOVIA Laboratory software, developing and implementing test strategies, test plans, and authoring and executing test cases for our on-premise and cloud software delivery. Your expertise will help ensure BIOVIA solutions meet the needs of life and material science customers. Interact with product management, project management, and development teams to understand project and testing objectives. Design, develop, execute, and maintain end-to-end workflow tests including functional, integration, and regression test suites based on business requirements. Promote an automation-first approach to software quality, contributing to test automation frameworks that improve efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. Participate in troubleshooting and triaging issues to identify root causes and resolve them. Track all work and deliverables daily, supporting internal and external audits. Ensure requirements traceability, test coverage, and exit criteria are satisfied before closing testing tasks. Participate in Go/No Go decisions, providing information on open test areas, known issues, and release risks. Share knowledge within QA Engineering and act as a subject matter expert on software and tools. Advocate for quality in the product development process and drive practices that improve product quality and customer value.

Qualifications: B.S., M.S., or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields. 5+ years of experience as a software QA engineer with enterprise products and solutions. Proficiency in scripting/programming with Java, JavaScript, or Python. Experience in designing and leading test strategies for complex enterprise products, reducing risks. Knowledge of continuous testing using open-source tools like JMeter, RestAssured, Selenium, and CI tools such as Jenkins and GitLab. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a quick learner attitude. Familiarity with software development and testing methodologies, including Scaled Agile.

Preferred Skills: Experience leading teams and mentoring junior engineers. Background in enterprise software, cloud testing, and scientific software. Experience testing cloud-based products and implementing automated QA under a DevOps model. Knowledge of database interfaces, SQL, Linux, scripting, and programming.

Compensation will be based on experience, ranging from $110,600 to $162,900, including base salary and target bonus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
