An industry-leading manufacturer in the dry bulk sector is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join their executive leadership team and help scale a high-performing engineering operation. Competitive pay: $110K–$140K base + bonuses
What You’ll Do:
You'll be responsible for managing the engineering department, overseeing both people and projects, while also engaging directly with customers to design customized solutions. Your responsibilities include:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and designers
Facilitate team meetings and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture
Structure growth to scale engineering from 4 to 12+ team members over time
Deliver structural solutions that meet safety codes and are cost-effective to manufacture
Perform structural modeling using Risa 3D and CREO Parametric 3D
Conduct engineering analysis, calculations, and material reviews
Oversee CAD detailing, approval drawings, and final fabrication cut lists
Create engineering standards and documentation aligned with ASME, IBC, OSHA, and ANSI
Participate in executive-level decision-making and long-term planning
Identify new materials, suppliers, and production opportunities
Support trade shows, client visits, and contribute to business development
What You Bring:
10+ years of experience in the dry bulk or a closely related industry
5+ years of experience leading engineering or design teams
Proficiency in structural analysis and mechanical/structural design
Expert in 3D modeling, especially CREO Parametric and Risa 3D
Current PE or SE license (preferred)
Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
High attention to detail, with an ability to balance creativity and structure
Willingness to travel occasionally (~1 day/month)
Schedule & Work Environment:
Monday to Thursday, 7 AM – 5 PM CST
Friday, 7 AM – 12 PM CST
