Astroscale U.S. Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in our Denver, Colorado location. In this role, you will work on systems design of a variety of programs for Astroscale service missions. You will be integral to developing the on-orbit servicing solutions that will deliver our vision of a sustainable space environment.
- Mission, system and operational concept development for satellite services and missions, including space and ground segments.
- Leverage expertise in understanding the roles of each of the subsystems that build up a satellite and the interactions between them.
- Assist in architectural trades and interface definition for deployment and hosting of on-orbit servicing payloads.
- Apply system engineering principles to the selection of subsystems as part of satellite concept and design development.
- System level design of space systems across all phases of projects, including requirement analysis, sensitivity analysis, mission analysis, and design trade-offs.
- Apply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve engineering problems, including future applications, and engineering developments.
- Support the preparation of technical responses to bids, presentation materials and reports, for a variety of applications and customers.
- Support and actively participate in customer and supplier meetings and presentations at all project stages.
- Liaise with customer and supplier staff and staff from other parts of Astroscale.
- Familiarity with all aspects of the satellite system life cycle, including designing and analyzing space and ground segments to the subsystem level.
- Demonstrated experience with systems engineering principles and tools, including CONOPS, requirements management and verification.
- Familiarity with spacecraft level environmental testing, launch, and commissioning.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment; self-driven and motivated.
- Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced professional with 8+ years’ experience in engineering and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum, Master’s degree or PhD preferred in science, technology, engineering or math, or equivalent experience.

Salary range: $140,000 – $170,000. The salary range represents the low and high end of the Astroscale U.S. Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, knowledge, and ability as applicable to the role.
