Role: Sr. Systems Engineer. Location:  ANG Component Enterprise Data Center (CEDC) - McGhee Tyson ANG Base, TN (telework eligible).
Agency: Air National Guard. Period of Performance: 12-month base and 4 x 12-month options. Security Clearance: Secret.
Job Description: The Senior Systems Engineer (KEY) will provide critical systems engineering technical support for the Air National Guard (ANG) enterprise network.
This role is key to ensuring the successful planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex systems that support the ANG mission.
The candidate will apply high-level business and technical principles to address technical challenges and will be responsible for the oversight of major project elements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead systems analysis and engineering efforts for the ANG enterprise network, ensuring alignment with ANG and AF IT strategies. Develop and maintain comprehensive systems documentation, including system configuration, process models, and functional area data integration. Provide technical support for the migration and integration of legacy systems into modernized network environments. Evaluate current processes and procedures for network reengineering, documenting findings, and developing process improvement options. Maintain and upgrade network systems in accordance with DoD modernization efforts and lifecycle management directives. Provide technical integration support for CONUS and OCONUS ANG stakeholders, coordinating with headquarters and installation personnel. Support the planning and implementation of future system interfaces, including the development of DODAF architecture views. Participate in the development and maintenance of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and practices, including risk management and incident response. Facilitate the development of acquisition schedules, milestones, Independent Government Estimates (IGEs), Performance Work Statements (PWS), Statements of Work (SOW), and Evaluation Criteria. Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project deliverables. Develop and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule on a continuous risk management basis. Position Responsibilities: Design and configure network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. Conduct systems analysis and integration. Maintain network hardware/software, guarantee user availability, and support network-related projects. Collaborate with managers and security specialists to meet organizational standards and policies. Position Qualifications: MA/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. 10 yrs. experience. Extensive experience in systems engineering, including design, analysis, and integration. Leadership experience; familiarity with DoDAF or similar frameworks. Must possess all required licenses for operating NIPR and SIPRNet. IAM III certification based on job duties and access levels at CEDC McGhee-Tyson. Desired: Demonstrated expertise in systems analysis, design, integration, and implementation of complex IT systems. Familiarity with DODAF, RMF, STIGs, and other relevant cybersecurity and architectural frameworks. Proven ability to lead and manage high-profile engineering projects and initiatives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Relevant certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
