Sysop (Systems Operator / Infrastructure Engineer)

Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid)
Hours: Full-time, MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM CST

We are a fast-growing technology consulting firm and Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a full-time System Operations Professional to help implement and manage IT solutions for our clients. What Youll Do

As a Sysop, youll work on a wide range of IT systemsfrom network infrastructure to cloud serviceshelping design, implement, and support solutions that meet client needs. Youll work both independently and collaboratively, serving as a technical escalation point for the service desk team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and implement infrastructure at the network level (LAN/WAN connectivity, routers, FortiNet firewalls, and security).
• Deploy and maintain hosted/cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Private Cloud).
• Manage disaster recovery and backup solutions (Veeam or equivalent).
• Assist with complex escalations from help desk and Tier 2 support.
• Support Microsoft environments: Windows Server, Exchange, M365, Azure AD, etc.
• Support and manage virtual environments (Hyper-V and/or VMware).
• Maintain and tune RMM tools (agent scripting, alerts, dashboard, patching, reviews).
• Maintain thorough documentation for all systems and client infrastructure.
• Participate in client meetings to align IT with business strategy.

What You Bring

• 23 years of professional IT experience in a systems or infrastructure role.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Active Directory and Windows Server (2019, 2022, 2025).
  • Microsoft 365 and related services.
  • Networking fundamentals and firewall configuration (FortiNet preferred).
• Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools (Kaseya,HaloPSA, etc.).
• Strong organizational/documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Professional demeanor; able to represent the company well with clients.
