Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Transportation Structural Engineer to lead and manage the design of transportation-related structural projects of various sizes and complexity. This role involves overseeing engineering deliverables, supervising team members, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and directly interacting with clients and subconsultants. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland with deep expertise in bridge and transportation structure design. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects Meet project schedules while maintaining quality standards Maintain and manage project scopes and budgets Prepare contract bid documents and provide construction phase services Coordinate with subconsultants across disciplines Lead and mentor design engineers and drafting personnel Communicate effectively with clients and support relationship development Required Skills Ability to manage structural design for engineering and construction projects of varying complexity Knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete components Ability to manage multiple projects in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Required Experience 12–20 years of relevant experience in structural design Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Maryland Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards Experience working with Maryland Department of Transportation Preferred Experience Master’s degree in Civil Engineering 6+ years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting. The role is generally sedentary with occasional standing and walking. Environmental conditions are standard, with adequate lighting and temperature, and no exposure to hazardous or unpleasant elements.
