Senior Vice President Software Engineer - Controls Engineering - Global Banking & Markets - Dallas Opportunity Overview: Controls engineering is responsible for building the next-generation firm-wide control plane for our front office desks. The successful candidate will leverage deep technical skills to implement a highly scalable, message-driven architecture processing approximately 3 billion messages per day, enabling real-time 'safe to trade' determinations. The role also involves developing web applications for user registration, control development, and administration. Role Overview: This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, high-performance team using open-source libraries. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders including product managers and risk managers across London and India to enhance our controls data platform and deliver new features. Utilize data to inform decision-making and develop tools to facilitate data collection. Understand market rules, regulations, exchange services, and end-to-end business functions to build supporting systems. Communicate with traders, sales, clients, and compliance officers regarding system features and updates. Ensure best practices in solution design and development within delivery teams. Job Duties: Manage engineering projects, establish processes, and proactively mitigate risks to deliver quality solutions. Collaborate with leadership, developers, and operations through presentations and documentation. Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, architecture, and operational excellence. Contribute to SDLC documentation, templates, patterns, and controls. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Software Engineers, supporting career development. Participate in global projects, taking responsibility for specific components as needed. Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (including Finance/Quantitative Economics). Experience Requirements: 15 years in software engineering, with at least 6 years in a similar role. Skills and Licenses: Must include six years of experience with: Software engineering principles and practices Proficiency in at least two high-level programming languages (Java, Python) Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and enterprise applications Clear communication of software and system details Strong teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to solve high-performance engineering problems language-agnostically Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Kubernetes architectures Experience building trading controls in investment banking Knowledge of NoSQL, in-memory, cloud, and relational data stores Experience in performance analysis and optimization Additional Information: This job posting is active.
