As a Service Proposals Engineer with Clarke Energy USA, you'll play a vital role in developing clear, accurate, and competitive service proposals that support our customers' needs and drive our business forward.
This role will be remote with travel as necessary. You'll work closely with our Service Director and cross-functional teams to develop proposals that uphold our commitment to exceptional service and customer satisfaction.
Specific R esponsibilities
Interpret service inquiries and requests for quotations from customers and internal departments to understand their ongoing operational and maintenance needs.
Engage with customers via phone, email, or in-person meetings to clarify service requirements and propose tailored after-sales solutions.
Coordinate site visits and meetings with service subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to assess scope and feasibility of service proposals.
Support the Service and Sales team during customer meetings by providing technical and commercial input on service offerings.
Define key objectives and service options in line with company capabilities, coordinating necessary technical and commercial information to develop comprehensive service proposals.
Collaborate with the Service, Sales, Engineering, Commercial, and Project teams to evaluate technical risks, warranty implications, and commercial terms for service contracts.
Prepare and submit detailed service proposals and tenders, including pricing, scope of work, commercial terms, and technical specifications.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries related to service proposals, ensuring timely responses and fostering long-term customer relationships.
Issue RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors for service-related components and works, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and terms & conditions.
Track and report the status of service proposals, maintaining accurate records and keeping the Service Director informed of progress and issues.
Track existing service and parts agreements, initiating renewal discussions ahead of contract expiry.
Support the Service team during the handover of successful proposals to ensure smooth transition into execution.
Maintain compliance with internal quality systems and documentation standards throughout the proposal process.
Ensure all work adheres to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering OR a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in proposals, sales, or service engineering within an engineering environment.
Strong grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering principles in service and maintenance contexts.
Solid knowledge of reciprocating gas engines in power generation applications.
Experience with CHP systems, Battery Storage, or Renewable Natural Gas (RNG).
Familiarity with Clarke Energy products and engine service operations.
Understanding of federal regulations, industry standards, and commercial terms relevant to after-sales service.
Skilled in risk analysis, data interpretation, and scope definition for service contracts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Analytical mindset with strong questioning techniques to uncover customer needs and craft effective solutions.
Excellent relationship-building skills across internal teams and customer stakeholders.
Clear, confident communicator-both written and verbal.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Commercially astute with the ability to balance technical recommendations and business goals.
Collaborative and team-oriented with a proactive, solution-driven approach.
Adaptable under pressure and resilient in the face of shifting priorities.
Strong decision-making skills focused on risk vs. return.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
