Join Our Innovative Team! We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer to be part of our exciting Project Kuiper initiative. This project aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, building, and maintaining vital APIs and interfaces that connect Kuiper's capabilities to US Government customers, including NASA, the Department of Defense, and other National Security organizations. Your contributions will support mission-critical applications focused on space safety and sustainability.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Utilize your understanding of network topology and Software Defined Networking (SDN) to collaborate with the Kuiper network team.
Develop APIs and software interfaces to meet the unique needs of our government customers.
Showcase the capabilities of the interfaces and architectures you design in a simulated environment.
Tackle complex technical challenges using the Kuiper constellation as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Lead both internal and vendor teams to successfully deliver on software and interface requirements.
Ensure systems meet performance criteria set by Kuiper and US Government requirements concerning availability, reliability, and security.
Communicate project health, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders and management.
Provide clear visualizations, document your results, and share insights with your project teams.
This position is located in Redmond, WA, and includes US relocation benefits. Please note, to comply with U.S. government requirements, candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

Your Qualifications:
3+ years of professional software development experience.
2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
Proficiency in at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience managing the full software development life cycle.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Experience with Software Defined Networking.
