About the Role :
Vercel seeks engineers to develop systems that enhance product and customer experience. As part of the Edge team, you'll work to scale and improve our infrastructure, availability, and reliability by collaborating with backend engineers and product teams to identify problems, develop tooling, and automate processes.
Your responsibilities will include designing systems, coding, and debugging production systems. Our team manages deployment, routing, and serving capabilities through tools and infrastructure that utilize cloud providers for networking, TLS termination, routing, storage, caching, and other edge services.
If you're within commuting distance of our SF or NY offices, in-office days are on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If beyond, the role is fully remote. Please contact our recruiting team for location-specific details.
About You :
Interested in solving complex challenges involving petabytes of data and billions of requests
A collaborative team player who values strong teamwork for innovation
At least 5 years of relevant experience
Deep experience in scaling high-performance systems in the cloud
Interested in protecting the platform and users from abuse
Keen to experiment, challenge norms, and deliver secure, reliable, and user-delighting systems
Knowledgeable about web servers and network protocols
Comfortable with Golang
Familiar with Cloud Services like AWS or Google Cloud
Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Lua, React, and Next.js is a plus

The base salary in San Francisco, CA ranges from $196,000 to $294,000, depending on skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside SF may be adjusted. The total package includes benefits and equity. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
