Product Engineering is responsible for Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products, including media engineering, quality assurance, personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity. Join our team at ESPN as an Android Mobile Software Engineer, developing cutting-edge OTT applications using Java and Kotlin. Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Content Creators to deliver world-class ESPN apps, shaping the future of ESPN's mobile and TV applications for millions of sports fans worldwide. If you’re passionate about sports and technology, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Assist in designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless feature integration. Gain experience in managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables under guidance. Contribute to solving technical challenges and improving user experience. Receive mentorship and grow within the team. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of professional development experience with Android and/or Android TV BS in Computer Science or related field Strong understanding of OO design patterns Experience with Kotlin, RxJava or Coroutines, Jetpack, Compose, Dagger/Hilt, Retrofit, Glide/Picasso/Coil Understanding of Android app lifecycle, Google Play and Amazon App Store policies Experience with unit testing and CI systems Knowledge of HTTP and REST web services Motivated self-starter eager to learn new technologies Preferred Qualifications Experience with multiple app architectures (MVVM, MVI), building TV apps Experience with live consumer-facing apps, product architecture, performance optimization Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Strong coding skills, performance analysis, and optimization abilities Salary range varies by location, with additional benefits and incentives.
