Compensation Overview The annual base salary range is a nationwide market range, reflecting salaries across the country. The actual salary will depend on factors such as role scope, complexity, location, skills, education, experience, and other employment conditions. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentives. Salary Range $117,200.00 - $193,400.00 What Is the Opportunity? Travelers seeks a Software Engineer II to grow and transform our Technology landscape. You will complete advanced engineering tasks including designing, developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing solutions based on specifications. You will also manage system interactions, define technical requirements, and coordinate team resources to solve problems. What Will You Do? Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions with high accuracy and speed, operating as an individual contributor. Assess and resolve defects and incidents of advanced complexity. Work independently on scoped problems. Expand technical knowledge and capabilities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship. Perform other duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Four years of programming/development experience preferred. Intermediate delivery skills, estimating timelines, delivering work predictably, contributing to design strategies, and ensuring automation and small batch releases. Domain expertise, understanding technical concepts, industry trends, and system knowledge. Strong problem-solving skills, resolving issues long-term, learning from mistakes, and breaking down large problems. Effective communication skills, articulating information clearly, collaborating, and providing constructive feedback. Intermediate leadership skills, fostering a safe learning environment, and self-motivation. What Is a Must Have? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
