Our Team:
The Data Platform Engineering team within Data & Analytics builds the foundational pieces of our data platform, collecting, enriching, and presenting data for analysis. The Data & Analytics organization is at the forefront of developing and maintaining frameworks, tools, and data products vital to WBD, including flagship streaming product Max and non-streaming products such as Films Group, Sports, News and overall WBD eco-system. Our mission is to foster unified analytics and drive data-driven use cases by leveraging a robust multi-tenant platform and semantic layer. This team will support studios, sports, news and corporate as well.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer II here you are passionate about using software-based approaches to solve complex data collection challenges and automate those solutions. Within our organization, you’ll lead efforts aimed at scaling our existing offerings and establishing the technical strategy for how we can better equip engineers and leaders with data. You’ll build a deep understanding of our digital services and use that knowledge, coupled with your engineering, infrastructure, data, and cloud knowledge, to optimize and evolve how we understand our technical ecosystem.
To be successful, you’ll need to be deeply technical and possess excellent collaboration skills. You have experience practicing infrastructure-as-code, microservice development and monitoring, and supporting production systems. In addition, you’ll have strong high-volume microservice knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.
The Daily
Build robust data pipelines that deliver high data quality at scale using Kafka, Flink, and at least one modern object-oriented language Grow your ability to design, implement, and own critical features of a product used by millions of customers Have a deep understanding of software data structures and algorithms Be a self-starter that can independently solve complex engineering problems Maintain high quality coding standards Design and deliver components of a complex high-volume distributed system Be passionate about software engineering with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write Seek self-improvement and be adaptable to suggestions and feedback Hold yourself and your team to high standards while maintaining friendly, respectful relationships Qualifications & Experiences
BS degree in Computer Science, or a related field or 3+ years of relevant experience 3+ years of professional development experience using languages such as Java, C, C++, C#, Javascript, Typescript, Golang Passion for working with high scale data pipelines Some experience with AWS with knowledge of S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, Networking etc. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
