Software Engineer, Infrastructure

New Yesterday

About Runloop Runloop is pioneering the next generation of AI-powered software engineering. Our platform empowers developers to build, scale, and optimize AI coding solutions-accelerating how software gets built, maintained, and evolved. We're a tight-knit, senior team of former Google and Stripe engineers, deeply focused on the hard problems of productionizing AI systems for real-world development.
The Role We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. You'll help build the robust, scalable, and secure foundation that powers Runloop's core platform-supporting the AI agents that assist software developers in real time. You'll get to work hands-on with cutting-edge tech like MicroVMs, Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP-while collaborating closely with product engineers to support developer-facing systems at scale.
What You'll Do Design and build core infrastructure: MicroVMs, containerization, cloud services, and Kubernetes clusters Optimize for scale, performance, and cost-efficiency across our cloud stack Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and alerting systems Partner with AI and product teams to integrate infrastructure into the full Runloop platform Stay sharp on emerging trends in infrastructure, AI systems, and developer tools What We're Looking For 4+ years of experience in software engineering focused on infrastructure or platforms Strong background with MicroVMs, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS & GCP) Proficiency in systems languages like Golang, Rust, or Java Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi) and DevOps tooling Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills-especially in distributed environments Bonus: AI/ML infrastructure experience Deep container performance knowledge (e.g., buildkit, overlaybd) Contributions to open-source projects Familiarity with security in cloud environments
