Summary: Meta is seeking Machine Learning Engineers to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on classification and optimization problems such as payment fraud, click-through rate prediction, click-fraud detection, search ranking, text/sentiment classification, collaborative filtering/recommendation, or spam detection. The position involves applying these skills to social data and prediction challenges on the web. Required Skills: Software Engineer (Technical Leadership) - Machine Learning Specialist Responsibilities: Drive the team's goals and technical direction to improve organizational efficiency Communicate complex features and systems effectively Assess industry & company-wide trends to develop new technologies Collaborate with leaders to enhance team and organizational performance Identify new opportunities and influence staffing and prioritization Create feature roadmaps based on requirements Develop scalable classifiers and tools using machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models Adapt machine learning methods for modern parallel environments (distributed clusters, multicore SMP, GPU) Minimum Qualifications: Experience leading projects with industry-wide impact Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Mentoring and influencing engineers across organizations Proven ability to plan multi-year roadmaps aligning short-term projects with long-term vision Experience in large cross-functional engineering efforts 12+ years in programming (Python, C++, Java, or R) with a technical background 8+ years in machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, NLP, data mining, or AI Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience shipping products to millions or launching new products Experience with Hadoop, Pig, MapReduce, Sawzall, Bigtable, Hive, Spark Expertise in machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, NLP, data mining, or AI Public Compensation: $213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits Industry: Internet Equal Opportunity: Meta is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
