Davidson is hiring a Software Systems Engineer on-site in Colorado Springs, CO who will work with the Air Force designing, developing, and deploying software for the United States' next-generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an opportunity to start with a clean slate, rather than revamping a decades-old missile.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform in an MBSE environment
Analyze users' requirements, concept of operations documents and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities
Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches and conduct feasibility studies
Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design and technology
Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
Develop technical, system Architecture and system design documentation
Collaborates with Product Owners regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated issues
Take responsibility for the technical integrity of systems engineering work
Job Requirements:
10 years' experience as a software and systems engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university
4 years of additional software or systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Experience with SysML, UML, or other modeling languages
Excellent organizational and facilitation skills
Self-starter able to step up to difficult challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DOORS, Cameo and operational weapon software systems
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification
Experience with verification planning and system buildup for flight tests
Detailed knowledge of the Command and Launch system and mission objectives
Experience with: Agile, Software Safety (Mil-STD882E), USAF Nuclear Surety (AFMAN91-119) or Cyber Certification
Experience working in a cross-functional team, designing for Safety Critical Functions, performing Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis (SCFTA), and writing requirements for Safety Critical Functions
Clearance Requirements:
Active DoD Security Clearance
