Pacific Pros is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer (Level III) to support Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA) projects, including Terminal Development & Improvement Program projects such as Airline Terminal Improvements, Airport Service Improvements, Terminal Development, and Asset Renewals. Region: Los Angeles, CA Work Location: LAWA requires candidates to be local. This is a full-time on-site position. Position Details: Expected start: Winter 2024, immediate opening. Role Summary: The candidate should have extensive cost engineering experience with complex, multi-phase, multi-million-dollar construction or renovation projects. Responsibilities include preparing detailed cost reports, analyzing budgets, and maintaining cost control reports. Key Qualifications: Experience managing and reporting on large-scale, complex projects, including progress reporting methodologies. Experience with Design-Build and Construction Management at Risk delivery methods is desirable. Ability to understand technical construction programs and communicate progress effectively to technical and management personnel. Self-starter with results-driven focus and good teamwork skills.
Essential Duties: Monitor project budgets for LAWA's Capital Improvement Program. Review and analyze invoices, prepare job costing reports, perform cost-to-complete analysis, and attend project meetings. Develop reporting tools, review task orders, analyze bid and change order values, and perform project closeout. Ensure budget changes are approved and data is complete for reporting.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency with large-scale cost reporting systems, preferably Prolog. Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Qualifications: US employment authorization without sponsorship. Minimum 10 years of cost engineering experience in construction, preferably aviation projects. Experience managing a team of cost engineers. Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Relevant certifications such as PMP, PE, CCE, CCP.
Additional Notes: May require working beyond regular hours, various shifts, and occasional weekend work. Equipment and reimbursement policies are provided as specified. This is a salaried, full-time position based in the office or project site at LAX, not remote.
