Position: DevOps Engineer Specialist (Tech Lead) Location: McLean, VA (Candidates local to MD/VA/DC preferred) Duration: Contract-to-Hire (W-2 only) Job Description: Our client is looking for a DevOps Tech Lead with a strong architectural mindset. This is a strategy and visualization-heavy role, not a hands-on coding position. You'll help drive cloud modernization by building clear, high-impact technical diagrams, automation maps, and executive-level reports. You’ll bridge the gap between engineering and leadership, translating complex systems into clear stories that drive decisions. Key Responsibilities: Design high-quality PowerPoint presentations to articulate visions, solutions, and architectural strategies Create technical diagrams using Visio, Draw.io, and MindManager Work in a DevOps/Agile environment using Jira, Confluence, and AWS Build visualizations like integration maps, capability heatmaps, and CI/CD flows Support infrastructure automation efforts using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Kubernetes Extract and analyze metrics from Jira, ServiceNow, and other DevOps tools to tell a clear automation journey story Collaborate across teams to align tooling, security, and process modernization Must-Have Skills: 7+ years of experience in DevOps roles 5+ years working with PowerPoint, Visio, Jira, Confluence, and Agile tools Strong ability to design technical diagrams and simplify complex systems for executive consumption Deep understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with cloud tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS Preferred Skills: Background in Python, Java, or scripting (not for coding, but for understanding integrations) Experience with Draw.io, MindManager, and UI/UX diagramming tools Fintech or financial services experience Container tech familiarity: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EC2 Knowledge of security and monitoring tools: CyberArk, Vault, Splunk, ELK, Nagios Tools & Tech Environment CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Bamboo Cloud: AWS, Terraform, CloudFormation Monitoring/Security: Splunk, ELK, HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk Collaboration: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow Follow us on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/hyr-global-source-inc
