DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Delivers end-to-end complex engineering projects and proactively identifies opportunities & risks at an application level. Acts as a resource and mentor for other engineers.

Owns one or more applications. Understands the development lifecycle and is able to own applications at any phase of the lifecycle.

Owns product quality over the entire lifecycle from conception and development to release and maintenance.

Provides documentation for owned applications and features in a timely manner.

Provides front-line support to internal and external customers and triages bug reports from them.

Performs code reviews, technical design reviews, and test plan reviews.

Scopes and executes delivery of applications involving multiple engineers.

Scopes and plans sprints for owned application(s).

Provides technical input into overall roadmap planning.

Prioritizes and balances new feature development vs. maintenance work.

Communicates and presents effectively to customers, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.

Designs, implements, and executes Automation Frameworks, Tools, and Tests for complex systems.

Develops automation systems using and targeting various technology domains with respect to hardware and software applications.

Drives finding root cause and resolution of defects.

Consistently delivers high-quality and performant software solutions.

Research complex subjects and provide expert guidance.

Develop new features, conducts performance analysis, optimizes systems, and diagnoses failures.

Effectively debugs complex problems.

Makes pragmatic design decisions identifying risks, trade-offs, and alternatives.

Designs and implements complex systems.

Identifies problems with requirements and helps to resolve them.

Identifies and resolves dependencies impacting the team.

Analyzes existing processes and technologies and makes recommendations for improvement.

Collaborates with peer groups and other teams across Nintendo.

Provides coaching and mentorship and acts as a resource to other engineers.

Participates as a key contributor to the hiring process.

Up to 10% of travel; domestic and international.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of recent experience developing software

Comprehensive knowledge of IoT software/hardware design, application software design and emerging technologies

Comprehensive knowledge of application software design and emerging technologies

Comprehensive knowledge of application software design

Experience with real-time interactive platform technologies and industry-related trends

Strong grasp of data structure and algorithms, multithreaded programming, and OS fundamentals

Fluency with C++, Python, PHP (or equivalent)

Fluency with SQL (PostgreSQL)

Experience with Ubuntu/Linux development

Nice to have: Experience with iOS, Android, etc.

Working knowledge of public key infrastructure, symmetric encryption, mutual TLS, etc.

BS or MS in engineering or equivalent

Valid passport may be required

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time.

This position includes a base salary range of $146,079 - $219,119 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
