The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus eligible.

CNO Financial Group's IT Team is hiring a Sr. IT Engineer, Network to deliver high-quality technical solutions and documentation within a managed services IT model. This role will help facilitate and participate in the optimized delivery of proposed solutions in conjunction with our third-party partner in a timely, cost-effective, and integrated manner. This role will also collaborate with architecture staff on enhancements and technical direction as well as providing tier 3 support.

As a Sr. IT Engineer, VMWare/Storage, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical expertise in projects
  • Engaging with vendor-managed run support teams and CNO architects to ensure performance, security, and availability for all VMware environments
  • Engaging with vendor-managed run support teams and CNO architects to ensure performance, security, and availability for all storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Networks) and NAS (Network Attached Storage)
  • Engaging with vendor-managed run support teams and CNO architects to ensure performance, security, and availability for Backup systems
  • Creating and revising technical documentation Engaging Enterprise Architecture to further the architecture competency at CNO
  • Collaborating with technology architects on proposed improvements and new technologies; aligning solutions to support overall IT strategy
  • Providing advanced technical support for VMware and storage-related issues
  • Collaborating with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional problems

The Sr. IT Engineer, VMWare/Storage position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Have experience with VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter, and other VMware virtualization products.
  • Have experience with block and file storage arrays.
  • Are experienced with Storage Area Networks
  • Understand networking concepts, such as VLANs, DNS, and TCP/IP, as they relate to VMware and storage systems.
  • Possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on system performance and reliability.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience supporting server and directory technologies.
  • Ability to work within Central or Eastern time zone business hours.
  • Ability to work after hours/weekend times as projects or support require.
  • Experience with scripting (e.g Powercli and PowerShell).

  • Experience with the VMWare ESXi virtualization ecosystem including vCenter, Site Recovery Manager, and Aria Operations (vRops).
  • Experience configuring and supporting Cisco UCS
  • Experience configuring and supporting Pure storage, NetApp, and Rubrik backup solutions.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Cisco Fiber Channel SAN

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours. All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
