Role Overview

As a Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, performance, and availability of our client's network infrastructure. You will lead incident response efforts, proactively monitor systems, and serve as a technical resource for both your team and agency stakeholders. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in high-impact environments and is passionate about operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

· Monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose network outages and performance issues

· Lead incident response and root cause analysis for major network events

· Provide mentoring and technical oversight to junior NOC staff

· Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and internal federal stakeholders to resolve networking issues

· Allocate resources effectively to ensure 24/7 operational support

· Fulfill on-call responsibilities to ensure continuity of critical services

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience supporting and administering federal network infrastructure
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Incident Management: Detecting, diagnosing, and resolving network incidents
    • Routing & Switching Protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLANs
    • VPN Technologies: Policy- and route-based VPNs
    • Load Balancers: F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, Apache
    • Monitoring & Alerting Tools: SolarWinds, DataDog, ExtraHop
    • Firewalls: Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto Networks

Preferred Qualifications

· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

· F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) or F5 BIG-IP certification

· Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Engineer (PCNSE)
