This position involves providing technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area. The role requires recommending and implementing equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards, improve production efficiencies, and enhance manufacturing techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Lead advanced manufacturing process development with a focus on molding and coil winding technologies.
Drive the development of equipment and tooling to support scalable, long-term production solutions.
Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and test method development to ensure efficient and compliant manufacturing processes.
Develop prototypes and support early-stage concept ideation through hands-on experimentation and process refinement.
Collect and analyze process data to identify root causes, drive issue resolution, and ensure processes meet performance specifications.
Utilize statistical methods, data mining, and direct observation to evaluate and continuously improve manufacturing techniques.
Document lab activities, experiments, and key technical learnings in a clear and organized manner.
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to cross-functional project and functional teams.
Ensure all manufacturing processes and deliverables adhere to relevant regulatory and quality standards.
Author protocols/reports and execute equipment installation qualifications (IQ).
Must Have (Minimum Requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
Strong interest and passion for manufacturing process technologies.
Troubleshooting, problem-solving mindset.
Ability to effectively communicate experimentation approach and results.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
Prior Medical Device/Pharma experience.
Strong background in manufacturing/operations role.
Moldflow experience, knowledge.
CAD, design experience.
Working knowledge of Statistics.
Working knowledge of Design of Experiments and familiarity with Statistical software such as Minitab.
Experience in process and equipment validation.
Additional Responsibilities
Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, as well as production yields for existing products.
Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications.
Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules.
Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.
May develop and conduct statistical analysis or recommend additions to document work.
Leads the innovation, development, and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes, and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques including the measurement systems.
Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
