In this position... Ford is seeking an experienced, lead level, Senior Android Automotive engineer for the development of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems for a groundbreaking new line of Electric Vehicles (EVs). This role will involve designing, architecting, and implementing Android Automotive applications to create a seamless, intuitive, and connected user experience for Ford’s next-generation vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and history in Android Automotive application development, team leadership, and a passion for innovative automotive technologies. Responsibilities include providing mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced team members, helping to drive technical strategy, and ensuring the successful integration of Android systems with Ford’s EV ecosystem. This person will also be responsible for helping define project timelines, and collaborating closely with other teams to deliver high-quality IVI solutions. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of automotive technology and enhance the driving experience for a new era of EV owners. You'll have… Bachelor’s degree or better in software engineering, computer science or a related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience. 5+ years of software development experience. 3+ years of Android Automotive application software development experience. Proven experience leading engineering teams, preferably in automotive or consumer electronics. Strong expertise in Android Automotive application development, architecture, and performance optimization. Deep understanding of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems and automotive technologies.
