Digital Manufacturing Systems Team Position The Digital Manufacturing Systems (DMS) team at Ford is building the digital factory of the futurea software-defined manufacturing ecosystem that integrates process, product, and production to empower operators and engineers like never before. We operate at the intersection of advanced software, embedded systems, connected hardware, and real-time insights to enable Ford's transformation into a Virtual First, Connected Factory that closes feedback loops in real time. As a part of this team you will be involved in: Building next-generation manufacturing platforms that reduce defects, boost throughput, enhance safety and quality across Ford's global factories. Design and develop high-performance applications and services for real-time factory operation. Collaborate with cross-functional teamsembedded systems, hardware engineers, and data scientiststo bring Ford's connected factory to life. Contribute to real-time insight generation that allows management, operators and machines to make proactive decisions. Design, implement, and maintain scalable, intuitive, easy to use single-page, mobile-first, web applications for the factory, front-end and backend, integrated as needed with other services/API/message bus. Contribute to the full software development lifecycle: ideation, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support. Own significant parts of the tech stack and lead the implementation of key features. Troubleshoot production issues and proactively improve system robustness. Mentor entry-level engineers and provide technical feedback through code reviews. Help define technical direction, evaluate new technologies or patterns. Implement reusable patterns as identified into frameworks to accelerate. You'll have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering, similar or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. 5+ years of experience building full-stack applications in production environments, with proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and backend frameworks including Next.js, Node.js, Python, or Go. Even better, you may have exposure to real-time systems or manufacturing data workflows a big plus Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, hardware and project engineering teams.
