Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of systems engineering processes and principles and will have a proven track record of applying these principles to develop product solutions. The candidate must be able to function as part of an experienced team to develop systems engineering products and artifacts while adhering to the program Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and other processes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Software Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related work experience or a Master's degree (preferred) in a related discipline and 10 years of related work experience, or PhD in a related discipline with 8 years of related work experience
Applicants must have a current active in-scope TS security clearance at the time of application, and a TS/SCI security clearance to start
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs, including overseas travel as required (must have a valid passport)
Must have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions
Ability to be a product owner/scrum master for an infrastructure team of 5-15 employees
Demonstrated Systems Engineering skills and experience with interface engineering, including authoring of Interface Control Documents (ICDS) and Interface Design Documents (IDDS), including:
message definition and processing rules
message formatting (e.g., XML, VMF, et al.)
physical/network specifications and models, including the ISO OSI model
physical/network topologies and devices
network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, et al.) is a must
Requirements include engineering and development of behavioral models and diagrams, including use cases, sequence diagrams, and activity diagrams
Must have excellent communication skills
Risk Management Framework (RMF) based cyber security and experience with Agile or Iterative Development Methods
Cost, Schedule and Risk experience
IT Systems Architecture experience
Storage Architecture experience
Network Design (LAN/WAN/CAN) experience
Preferred Qualifications:
CAM experience
Active Sec+ certification
Current passport
Provide engineering leadership to infrastructure trades including significant effort to recap end of life equipment, cloud utilization, reliability, availability, health and status monitoring and cyber improvements.
Experience developing SOWs, proposals ROMs/BOMs, ECPs, CONOPS, cost estimates and BOEs
BOM management and accountability, experience managing BOMs up to $30M annual budget
Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification or Masters in Systems Engineering from an accredited institution.
Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
