Supplier Quality Development Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Lead supplier non-conformance and corrective action processes, driving to timely & adequate corrective action closure; manage cross functional teams to maintain processes; strive for continuous improvement of these processes to impact key metrics.
- Provide quality engineering support to operations projects, product launch processes, or daily issues.
- Provide technical support for SPC and inspection programs as required.
- Provide input to corrective action teams for customer and supplier concerns.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects. Complete Green Belt training and certification requirements.
- Participate in cross functional teams as Quality representative as required.
- Provide technical support and interpret supplier statistical information to ensure validity of supplier PPAP/Initial sample process for new or changing products. Use of Minitab is required at times to support.
- Serve as a point of escalation for imported pass-through products, working with suppliers on new program introductions, and through quality issues from pre-launch through production.
- Provide quality engineering support to operations projects, APQP, or daily issues as new assembly processes are introduced.
- Regular review of supplier performance; supplier visits and audits as needed.
- Overall desire and ability to communicate openly and effectively both upwards and downwards throughout the organization,
- Influence and support supplier scorecard reviews.
- Lead supplier qualification and development activities.
- Manage, audit & maintain ISO Procedures within business group.
- Effectively establish and implement valid quality standards that are acceptable to the customers.
- Provide training and education on overall product quality.
- Manage projects from scope, requirements, resources, timeline, and variance perspectives. Create a constant funnel of projects and report out on project status regularly. Fulfill corporate reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Technical field required.
- 5 years minimum work experience in quality related role.
- Technical knowledge of automotive engines & drivetrain and all parts related to them is a plus.
- Statistical analysis tools and PPAP requirements, preferred.
- Microsoft office computer skills required.
- Kaizen, and project management experience is a plus.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification highly preferred.
