Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Systems/Human Factors Engineer opportunity at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL.

Position Overview/Job Summary:

This position is for a Systems/Human Factors Engineer. This role will specifically support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) project. The ML2 Project is the design and construction of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America's need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites' ground systems.

You will be interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the client in the development of the design. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, a can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.

The Systems/Human Factors Engineer will be responsible for understanding the basic systems engineering work processes and modeling tools, and tools, and performing systems engineering tasks having a medium degree of complexity. The Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and checking systems engineering documentation. Work will also involve the integration and review of Human Factor requirements into engineering products.

Major Responsibilities:


Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or other engineering field from an accredited university or college with at least 9 years of relevant technical experience or in lieu of a degree, 15 or more years of relevant experience.
•US Citizenship or Permanent Resident of the US
•Must have or be able to obtain Engineer-In-Training (EIT) within 12 months of hire
•Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearances required for this position
•Knowledge of industry /regulatory codes and standards, and design criteria pertinent to the systems engineering and human factors discipline.
•Skill in oral and written communication.
•Possess an awareness of national codes and standards, environmental regulations, and their influence on design
•Experience facilitating multi-discipline meetings to resolve technical and related requirements compliance issues
•Excellent oral and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:
•Construction site familiarity
•Familiarity with implementation of requirements in design
•Experience in performing design and/or requirements change impact analysis
•Experience with MIL STD 1472G DOD Design Criteria Standard - Human Engineering
•Experience with HF-STD-001 FAA Human Factors Design Standard
