*Keys to the job:
*The Test Engineer will work on the development of the equipment and systems used to test product in a production release / production operations environment. They also provide support to Production Operations when there is an engineering related issue with a production item that has fallen out of the production test process due to a test equipment and or systems issue
*Candidate will be testing rack mounts
*They are looking for candidates that have experience in coding with the following languages: C#, BASH, BATCH, Python
*There will be up to 25% of travel as well for the first few months
Position Overview:
As a Test Engineer II, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality and reliability of various rack mount server systems, components, and equipment used in defense and aerospace applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing test plans, procedures, and strategies to evaluate the performance, functionality, and compliance of these systems. Your work will contribute to the overall safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of defense and aerospace technologies.
Qualifications and Skills: *Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus. solid understanding of test methodologies, test development, and test execution. *Experience with test equipment, tools, and software commonly used in defense and aerospace testing (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, environmental chambers). *Knowledge of defense and aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, AS9100). *Proficiency in programming languages (such as Python, C/C++) and experience with test automation frameworks. *Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. *Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. *Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines. *Prior experience in the defense and aerospace industry is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities: Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and project managers, to understand the requirements and specifications of defense and aerospace systems.
Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate system performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Identify and prioritize critical test cases and define test objectives and success criteria.
Design and develop test procedures, protocols, and scripts to execute functional, integration, performance, and stress testing of defense and aerospace systems.
Set up and configure test environments, equipment, and instrumentation required for accurate data collection and analysis.
Execute tests, record and analyze test results, and document any issues or anomalies encountered during testing. Identify and troubleshoot system defects or failures, working closely with the design and development teams to investigate and resolve issues.
Test Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed test reports, including test procedures, results, and recommendations for improvements or modifications to the systems.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of test plans, procedures, and test results for future reference and regulatory compliance.
Communicate test findings, status updates, and recommendations to project stakeholders, including engineering teams, project managers, and clients.
Test Automation and Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for test automation and develop automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline testing processes and increase efficiency.
Continuously evaluate and improve test methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance test coverage, reliability, and effectiveness. Stay updated with the latest advancements in testing technologies, industry standards, and best practices in the defense and aerospace domains .
Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and quality assurance processes throughout the testing lifecycle.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders to address compliance requirements and resolve any compliance-related issues.
