POSITION SUMMARY :
As a Tooling Operations Engineer at Signet Jewelers, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of our enterprise tooling platforms. This position is primarily focused on the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, OpsGenie), while also supporting a broader suite of tools including Dynatrace, GitHub, Lucid Suite, RunMyJobs, and Report2Web. Discovery of new more efficient tools.
You will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, operational support, documentation, reporting and continuous improvement of these tools, helping internal teams drive operational efficiency, collaboration, and innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration :
Administration and configuration of the tools supported by Tooling Operations Team.User access and license managementProject creationWorkflow design and maintenanceDocumentation of Signet standards and best practicesTroubleshooting user issuesWork closely with the IT Security team to maintain and optimize the architecture and configuration of the Atlassian tools to meet performance and security requirements.Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate these tools and introduce new tools, with their systems.
Administration and configuration the Atlassian Platform, RunMyJobs, Dynatrace, Lucid Suite, GitHub and Report2Web.
Maintenance :
Keep tools and platforms up to date, communicate, and remediate advisories from vendors.
Monitor the health and performance of tools and platforms.
Develop and maintain documentation related to tooling configurations and procedures.
Support:
Provide support for IT Projects, from an IT Tooling perspective. Ensuring industry/ Signet Jewelers standards and best practices are being implemented and followed.
Assist other teams within Signet Jewelers, in discovering and implementing solutions for issues they are facing.
Provide end-user support and training to resolve issues and answer questions related to the tools that are integrated in Signet Jewelers.
Troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems and user-reported issues and within these tools.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address complex technical problems.
Ensure 24x7 maintenance, support and tracking issues to ensure timely root cause resolutions that prioritize long-term stability and sustainability.
Continue further education and knowledge growth in these and other potential tools.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive, and well-organized documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Generate regular reports on system performance, user support metrics, and issue resolution times.
Create and update user manuals and training materials for the tools, so that the support and maintenance of these tools can be passed on to the Tooling Service Desk.
Ensure that all activities related to tooling are well-documented for reference and auditing purposes.
Document issues and root cause analysis/resolutions to ensure rapid resolutions for future related issues.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
3+ years of hands-on experience administering Atlassian tools, including Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence
Familiarity with additional enterprise platforms such as Dynatrace, GitHub, Lucid, RunMyJobs, and Report2Web
Deep understanding of user and permission management, workflow configuration, automation, integrations, and root cause analysis
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex platform issues and deliver scalable, long-term solutions
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in an enterprise setting
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to platform optimization and user support
Eagerness to learn and support new tools as business needs evolve, including tools already in use or under evaluation at Signet
Continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to research and recommend new tools that enhance operational efficiency
ITIL certification is a plus, or working knowledge of IT service management best practices
