We are seeking a motivated Transportation Project Engineer to join our growing team. Under the direction of a Project Manager, this professional will play a key role in supporting and leading various traffic and highway engineering projects. From urban roadway design to signal systems and traffic analysis, this role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful projects that improve community mobility and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design efforts for traffic and highway projects, particularly in urban or space-constrained environments
Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development
Prepare construction plans, design reports, and permitting documentation
Assist in traffic analysis, signal design, and roadway alignment studies
Mentor and guide junior staff in developing technical skills and design capabilities
Ensure work is completed on time and within established budgets
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project success
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Typically requires at least 5 years of experience in highway and roadway design
Experience working with state or local Departments of Transportation (DOTs)
EIT or PE certification preferred
Intermediate skills in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Synchro, Vissim and/or Microstation
Excellent oral and written communications skills including the ability to present technical content to non-technical audiences
