About the Role
Navius Technologies is seeking a User Interface Engineer (UX) to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside software developers, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to enhance and modernize advanced data visualization and presentation tools. Your expertise will directly support mission-critical capabilities by shaping intuitive, efficient, and impactful user experiences for a wide range of analytic users.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring direct user engagement, workflow analysis, prototyping, and usability testing. If you're passionate about applying human factors principles to real-world mission environments, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and analysts to identify and solve complex user experience challenges
Research and document user profiles, workflows, and scenarios to guide interface design
Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools like Axure and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
Plan, conduct, and analyze usability testing to evaluate the effectiveness of UX solutions
Design and administer user surveys to gather actionable feedback
Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, and deployment
Ensure interfaces meet modern design standards and support mission efficiency
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
10+ years of experience in usability, user interface design, or related fields
5+ years of experience specifically in user experience (UX) design and usability testing
Proven experience conducting task analysis, developing user interfaces, and leading usability testing initiatives
Familiarity with agile development environments and collaboration with cross-functional teams
Experience working with mission users and translating their needs into technical requirements
Desired Qualifications
Advanced degree in Human Factors or related disciplines
Professional certifications such as:
Certified Human Factors Engineering Professional (CHFP)
Certified Usability Analyst (CUA)
Or equivalent
