Overview: GovCIO is seeking a talented VMware Systems Engineer to join our team for an exciting Courts proposal. This position is based in San Antonio, TX, and is ideal for individuals with specialized expertise in software systems development, integration, hardware, storage, or network engineering. Key Responsibilities: Provide independent technical assistance and advice on complex activities, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of systems. Manage deployment, configuration, and backup/restore services for all physical and virtual servers. Engage in capacity planning and resolve complex problems while providing Tier 3 support for all servers and applications. Assist in agent configuration and troubleshooting to ensure system performance. Formulate and define specifications, and develop and maintain complex systems using vendor releases and utilities. Utilize analytical techniques to gather information, define work problems, and design technology solutions. Collaborate with users to prepare complete specifications for programming needs. Review project requirements, analyze data, and prepare project synopses while coordinating work with programmers and engineers. Make informed decisions on techniques and approaches for system improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience. Extensive expertise in VMware virtualization including design, implementation, and management of environments with vCenter. Current VMware certification (Data Center Virtualization and/or Cloud required). Demonstrated ability in project management, handling multiple projects while ensuring system reliability. Experience with Red Hat Linux administration and Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012) alongside Active Directory. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting or equivalent technology. Networking knowledge and skills in a complex data center environment. Preferred experience with database administration for MS SQL and Linux SQL.
