Fuss & O’Neill is seeking a Water Resource | Dam Engineer to join our growing Water and Natural Resources team! This is an exciting opportunity to take on impactful work focused on watershed management, dam safety, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and urban stormwater systems.
You will support project managers in both modeling and design tasks for a variety of public and private sector projects, while also taking a growing role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to quality control processes. Key Responsibilities Support project managers with modeling and design for water and natural resource projects Conduct hydrologic analysis of watersheds and delineation of catchments Perform hydraulic evaluations of culverts, bridges, streams, and riverine systems Contribute to design of dam repairs, dam removals, and stormwater treatment systems Assist with fieldwork and site assessments Write technical reports and ensure quality deliverables Participate in QA/QC process Mentor and train junior level staff
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or related field) At least 4+ years of relevant working experience, consulting experience preferred EIT preferred (or ability to obtain within one year) Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, and other modeling software Familiarity with PCSWMM, StormCAD, and Civil3D a plus Strong written communication skills with emphasis on technical report writing Dam-related project experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
