To attend occasional in-person meetings and participate in fieldwork, the candidate will need to reside in Maryland or an adjacent state.*Water Resources Engineer – Job Description*We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer with 0 to 3 years of experience.You will work under the direction of a Division Director and Senior Engineers. Your projects will involve:* _Stormwater Management:_ Evaluating developments for compliance and designing SWM facilities (BMPs and ESDs) to address water quality and quantity requirements. May also include SWM inspection, retrofit of existing facilities, and designing facilities to address TMDL goals for restoring the Chesapeake Bay.* _Drainage:_ Locating and sizing storm drain systems and open channels, designing culverts, and designing outfall protection.* _Erosion and Sediment Control:_ Evaluating drainage patterns during construction and locating ESC devices to prevent erosion and sediment deposition.* _Bridge Hydraulics:_ Hydrologic, hydraulic, and scour analysis for bridges using the latest methods and software.* _Roadways:_ Evaluating and designing interchange and intersection layouts, horizontal and vertical roadway geometrics for new and improved roadways, maintenance of traffic plans, traffic control devices, etc.Experience with HEC-RAS, TR-20, TR-55, ArcGIS, GeoPAK, and Microstation is a plus.Career development for all our engineers is very important to us, and through a process of mentorship and training, you will take increasing responsibility on projects of increasing size and complexity.*Company Benefits*At Alvi Associates, we offer a generous benefits package and salaries which are at the top of the range compared to other engineering firms in the area.
