The IT Wireless Engineer provides engineering implementation and support for the company-wide standard WiFi infrastructure and related components and tools. Specialist areas of focus include daily operational installations, service monitoring, collaboration on joint projects, and coordination to improve Wireless operations. Projects involve various hardware and software technologies, including new features or modifications to existing infrastructure. Working independently with minimal supervision, the candidate must possess strong writing, computer skills, and effective communication with the Management Team. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field preferred. 3-5+ years of successful experience in the Information Technology field. 5+ years supporting a multi-location enterprise-wide area network is preferred. Focused training/seminars on wireless technologies (a/b/g/n/ac), RF, and wireless security solutions. Training on desktop OS, inter-networking, VOIP, VoWLAN, QoS, SNMP, and SMARTS. Knowledge of routing protocols and wireless survey tools. Membership in professional Wireless Industry Associations/Affiliations. Strong background in wired network components including routers, switches, and Layer 1 technologies. Training or knowledge of privacy laws such as HITECH and HIPAA. Ability to produce wireless solution designs and provide technical support. Experience with wireless design, planning, and implementation. Understanding of routing protocols and their integration with wireless tech. Experience with wireless encryption, RFID, and wireless voice solutions. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) or within one year of employment. Certified Wireless Analysis Professional (CWAP) preferred.
