As an HAEA employee, you will provide dedicated support to Hyundai MOBIS, Hyundai’s automotive component supplier that develops and manufactures various automotive parts, modules, and developing software and system solutions for the future mobility for Hyundai Motor Group and other automakers.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The Technical Operation Engineer will be the supporting the IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) group that provides infotainment and connectivity features within Hyundai vehicles and encompasses a wide range of technologies, including audio, video, navigation, and connectivity.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the North American Connected Routing (SBR - Server Based Routing) operations. Responsibilities include quality engineering (quality assurance), supporting development efforts, route logic analysis, quality validation, connected routing related customer service, and daily monitoring of the routing systems. The Technical Operation Engineer will respond to Headquarter's, content providers' and other clients' requests, and collaborate with other groups to complete projects.
Plan and perform regular/occasional field driving tests to validate and improve overall connected routing quality. Will compare, analyze, and benchmark tests against competitors to improve connected routing quality. Collect, interpret, and visualize driving test data for the purpose of improving user experience. Utilize necessary tools for in-depth analyses of traffic data quality, and communicate with content providers and corporate developers to maintain and improve the accuracy of the provided data. Additional responsibility of evaluating user routes using route analysis tools, exposing errors, comparing displayed routes to the customers' routes, and suggesting possible solutions to improve overall service quality.
Manage relationships and coordinate efforts between various content provider organizations and all Hyundai subsidiaries. Additional obligations include supporting client tests and collaborating with headquarters to localize current logic with the market. Also, support the overall systems operation between content providers, clients, developers, and headquarters which will include but not necessarily be limited to:
Operation Management
Report daily/monthly user usage trends by cross analyzing data from the Connected Car Service (CCS) servers and geographic information systems (GIS) servers
Analyze the accuracy of traffic data from the multiple providers using organizational scoring methods
Conduct regular meetings with clients to collaborate on field test operations to improve the quality of connected routing services
Monitor the status of the connected routing servers and react to any malfunctions
Communicate with the CCS team in regards to the server issues, system maintenance, and client request
Report map related issues to the provider and test the corrections
Incident Management
Respond to customer reported issues
Respond to and analyze customer issues by investigating and identifying the root cause, reporting a solution, and recommending possible improvements
Quality Engineering
Plan and perform driving field test for software updates, routes and traffic quality
Perform regular/occasional software update test
Research and prepare required test environments and corresponding vehicles to confirm the functionality of software
Create and manage test cases based on the development requirements
Execute, gather results, and distribute the result of test cases
Organize and analyze test data to identify errors and suggest points of improvement
Investigate the application of new features and perform tests for those new features
Perform local testing for head unit related features on all available platforms
Raise issues revealed from testing, check the progress of the fixes, and validate the fixes through additional testing
Review existing logic and support the development team in deciding logic changes based on characteristics of North American environments
Join the quality audit and follow up on connected route related issues
Analyze customer routes and investigate their issues/complaints for possible improvements

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU
Bachelor of science degree or equivalent technical experience
1~2 years of experience in quality assurance, engineering, or other related field
Understanding and ability to use collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
Non-Professional experience using Connected Car Services such as OEM navigation
systems from any car manufacturer
Test automation tools
Desire to drive for long periods of time
Strong root-cause analysis skills
Excellent oral presentation and writing skills
Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and the ability to meet deadlines
Experience in automotive technology industry
Test driving experience
Bi-lingual in Korean and English
Knowledge of IT security
Minor experience with Python and SQL
Minor experience with Cloud Servers such as AWS
Hourly Pay Range - $34.48 - $43.58
