Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports To: Manufacturing Project Engineer
Department: Manufacturing
Compensation: Salary
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Travel Required: Yes – 15%
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will drive improvements to the manufacturing methods, equipment, and facilities.
Duties and responsibilities: Manage individual projects from start to finish including capital investment
Serve as a liaison to Engineering as a representative of manufacturing
Research new materials and processes with the goal of improving efficiencies and cost
Provide technical guidance, training and various support to the manufacturing & maintenance teams
Document technical detail, layouts, electrical and mechanical diagrams of plant and equipment
Support new equipment selection, utility capability and requirements
Develop and implement process monitoring methods with the intent to improve cycle times
Design and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and modifications for new or existing processes
Any other duties assigned by the Manufacturing Project Engineer
Needed experience & technical knowledge: Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology, Mechanical or Industrial with 2-5 years of experience
Hands on experience working with electrical/ mechanical systems, fabrication, multicraft in industrial environment
Effective use of PC’s, software, CNC, PLC driven equipment
Basic use of SolidWorks
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Experience in the use of lean manufacturing principles
Exposure to industrial sewing equipment/methods
Required
Bachelor’s degree in technical field
2-5 years working experience in manufacturing
Strong interpersonal skills, can interact with non-native English speaking and/or limited English-speaking workforce
Knowledge of manufacturing documentation such as wiring diagrams, schematics, and bills of materials.
Proven experience in reducing cycle-times
Ability to learn technical content and adapt quickly, can deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities
Proven experience in project management, time management and meeting deadlines
Excellent written and oral skills
Good leadership and organization skills and the ability to motivate team members
