About the Role: Superior Metals Manufacturing is looking for a passionate and meticulous Aerospace Quality Engineer to become a key member of our team. As a leader in our Business Management System (BMS) and Advanced Quality System (AQS), you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a robust quality culture throughout the company. Location: Chittenango, NY (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $80,000 - $100,000, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience. Key Responsibilities: Act as the primary quality assurance contact for designated customers, ensuring proactive communication and rapid resolution of quality issues. Lead and coordinate technical quality efforts with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to exceed customer expectations. Conduct and assist with customer audits, ensuring thorough and timely documentation. Review and manage customer contracts, specifications, purchase orders, and technical documentation. Develop, implement, and monitor Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) plans to address and resolve nonconformances effectively. Participate actively in risk assessments, process improvement initiatives, and root cause analysis. Promote continuous improvement through lean methodologies, quality training, and collaboration across departments. Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in quality systems and tools. Support internal and external audits, including AS9100, NADCAP, ISO17025, and A2LA audits. Contribute to internal quality metrics and reports to track progress toward goals. Help develop operational training programs to ensure compliance with quality standards among all employees. Provide input for quote reviews, inspection planning, and create shop floor instructions. Be prepared to support operations outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2 years of experience in a quality engineering or systems role within a manufacturing setting. Thorough understanding of quality standards, including AS9100, NADCAP, ISO17025, and A2LA. Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, such as root cause analysis, FMEA, 5 Whys, Pareto analysis, and control plans. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with aptitude for interpreting complex technical documents. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across departments and with external parties. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledgeable about ERP and quality management systems. Ability to work onsite in Chittenango, NY, and adapt to occasional extended hours depending on operational needs. Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in the aerospace, investment casting, or metal manufacturing sectors. Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles. Experience with contract review, inspection planning, and regulatory compliance in a customer-centric role. ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, or similar) is a valuable asset. Key Relationships: Collaborate with the Quality Manager, Lab Manager, Sales Manager, Process Engineers, and Manufacturing Leaders.
