About Our Client

My client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, troubleshooting, and documentation of RF coaxial, data, and AC/DC power surge protection devices, along with EMI/EMC filters. This role requires collaboration with product design, test labs, production, and product management teams. The manager will also support presales efforts by aiding the development of commercial and military components using CAD and design tools.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and prioritize daily activities of the Mechanical Engineering team
  • Approve key engineering drawings and guide design reviews with team members
  • Define product requirements, schedules, and specifications in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Oversee testing, validation, and implementation to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Drive concept development, feasibility studies, and prototyping for new products
  • Conduct engineering analyses and calculations to support robust mechanical designs
  • Collaborate across disciplines, vendors, and contractors to align on project goals
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, project updates, and process improvements

    The Successful Applicant

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or permanent resident)
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • At least 8 years of experience designing and developing mechanical or electrical equipment for commercial, avionics, and military applications
    • Proficient in 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD LT, Inventor, or SolidWorks
    • Strong understanding of metals, plating processes, and mechanical testing methods
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
    • 2-3 years of program leadership experience preferred
    • Familiarity with military standards and specifications is a plus
    • Experience with AS9100 quality standards
    • Proven team player and self-motivated leader with mentoring abilities
    • Comfortable working from minimal documentation, including sketches, diagrams, and verbal instructions
