Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an AI Software Engineer level 1 or 2 with exposure to generative AI, machine learning, and/or graph data structures and databases. The ideal candidate will have up to 5 years of industry experience and a strong passion for technology and learning. This position will be a Hybrid Telecommute located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of software solutions leveraging generative AI technologies.
- Work with graph data structures and databases to aid in optimizing data management and retrieval.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software projects.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
- Engage in continuous learning and development, staying updated with the latest industry trends.
Basic Qualifications: Level 1
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with 0 years of experience, 4 years of relevant experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
- Basic understanding of generative AI technologies, including model training and deployment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Level 2:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field with 2 years of professional experience in software engineering, 4 additional years of relevant experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
- Basic understanding of generative AI technologies, including model training and deployment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- An Active DoD Top secret clearance.
- Exposure to graph data structures and databases.
- Familiarity with containerization tools and cloud deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
Salary Range: $77,400.00 - $116,000.00Salary Range 2: $93,400.00 - $140,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
