Position Summary We are seeking a customer-facing Application Engineer to support new program acquisition and ongoing product development within our automotive thermal systems business. This role serves as the primary technical interface between customers and our global engineering team, including headquarters in China. The position is responsible for translating customer requirements into engineering solutions and supporting programs from RFQ through production. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, supporting new business acquisition and program development Engage with OEM and Tier 1 customers to understand technical requirements and identify new opportunities Lead RFQ technical reviews, develop proposals, and present engineering solutions Analyze customer requirements and define performance, packaging, and functional criteria Manage technical aspects of RFQ responses, including feasibility and engineering estimates Support 2D/3D design development in collaboration with internal engineering teams Lead and support engineering changes, cost reduction initiatives, and implementation activities Support APQP processes, including DVP&R, DFMEA, and validation activities Troubleshoot and resolve pre-production and post-production technical issues Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure program timing, validation, and successful launch Monitor competitor activity and market trends to support business decisions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related field) Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive thermal systems or heat exchanger development Experience working with OEM or Tier 1 customers in a customer-facing engineering role Preferred Qualifications Experience in EV thermal systems, battery cooling, HVAC, or heat pump systems Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, aluminum casting, CAB brazing, or stamping CAD experience (CATIA, NX/UG, SolidWorks, Creo/Pro-E) Knowledge of APQP tools including FMEA, DVP&R, 8D, and PPAP Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects Benefits Competitive salary and performance-based bonus Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance) Short-term and long-term disability coverage 401(k) with company match Paid vacation, sick time, holidays, and floating holidays Career growth opportunities in a fast-paced, global environment
