The City of Auburn Engineering division is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer - Utilities to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a civil engineer, the role provides a balanced mix of technical review, project planning, interdepartmental collaboration, and capital project involvement. This role is ideal for someone passionate about public service, infrastructure resilience, and long-term utility planning. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

Primary Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Review development and capital improvement plans, reports, and documents for utility compliance with City standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Maintenance & Operations, GIS, Capital Engineering) to align utility planning with operational and regulatory needs.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts including the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements, and preparation of public-facing reports.
- Assist with preparation of utility project charters and long-range capital facility planning.
- Evaluate construction submittals and record drawings for consistency with standards and agreements.
Minimum Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field, AND three (3) years of applicable experience; OR a combination of applicable education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the primary functions of the position.
REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Possess and retain a valid state driver's license without impending loss at the time of appointment.
- An E.I.T. Certification is highly desirable
