Position Summary
The purpose of the Automation Engineer is to design, implement and optimize automation systems to improve business performance by increasing process throughput, enhance accuracy of processes and/or reduce of cost of production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and develop automation systems and processes focused on business specific needs.
2. Monitor and maintain performance of automated systems. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
3. Manage project list providing updates on scope, cost, quality and schedule to ensure completion inside business parameters.
4. Collaborate with other business teams to seamlessly provide support to facility.
5. Document all required manuals, system designs, test plans and troubleshooting steps.
6. Participate / lead building of equipment and hands on fabrication of components.
7. Provide technical support for all PLC and HMI systems installed on production floor.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum qualification required:
⦁ Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming and HMI or SCADA programming. Experience in Sherlock Vision Software preferred. BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering is desired. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position is required.
Knowledge/experience required beyond minimum qualification:
⦁ Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills in English.
⦁ Ability to effectively present information in small and large group situations to manufacturing staff and customers/clients as needed.
⦁ Ability to lead a diverse team through Sprints and Improvement activities.
⦁ Ability to build positive working relationships between departments
⦁ Ability to effectively present information to all levels including management.
⦁ Business related computer skills including Excel and word are helpful. Ability to process and organize data and details into actionable activities and process solutions.
⦁ Ability to troubleshoot problems and produce suggestions for corrections and improvements.
⦁ Ability to use graphs, charts, statistical data, and various analytical tools to maximize process efficiencies. Physical Demands/Other Key Factors
