Building Engineer-Third Shift

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday | 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Location: Downtown Dallas | High-Rise Class A Building
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity maintaining a high-rise, Class A commercial property in Downtown Dallas. This is an overnight shift role, ideal for a self-motivated, hands-on building engineer with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance to maximize life and reliability of systems
- Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC (chillers, boilers, pumps, DDC controls)
- Electrical tasks: reset breakers, test circuits, lighting retrofits
- Plumbing and general building systems maintenance
- Use CMMS to manage work orders and PMs
- Conduct building inspections and respond to tenant requests
- Supervise contractors and ensure code compliance
- Maintain inventory of building supplies
- Participate in training and safety programs
- Support emergency operations and inclement weather response
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance
- Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Familiarity with fire life safety systems and basic building codes
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs, climb ladders/lifts, and perform physical labor
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and smartphones
- EPA Universal Certification and HVAC technical training preferred
- Valid driver's license required
