We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the science of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that produces the visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer to bridge the gap between graphic design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. Required Skills: Strong understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3 Basic understanding of server-side CSS preprocessing platforms Stylus (LESS and Sass are acceptable) Experience with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery Good understanding of Backbone.js, Webpack, and Node.js Solid understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX Basic knowledge of image authoring tools; able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image; familiarity with Gimp and/or Photoshop a plus Familiar with cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them Experience working with code versioning tools such as Git Proficient understanding of Aria Web Accessibility Guidelines Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or comparable technical field
