The vessels will include multiple 120-foot missile retriever boats, 25-foot range patrol boats, and smaller dive boats. The vessels will include multiple 120-foot missile retriever boats, 25-foot range patrol boats, and smaller dive boats. The Chief Engineer will report to the Program Manager on site and will lead a few junior engineers.
The following job functions are basic requirements (but other duties may be assigned, as well):
Oversees and inspects all maintenance and repairs on the vessels, ensuring work is performed in accordance with technical orders and standard operating procedures. Operates propulsion and auxiliary engineering equipment and systems while underway. Oversees junior engineers in daily assigned duties. Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly logs. Ensures vessels are ready for operations at all times. Accurately documents system parameters for all main and auxiliary engineering equipment, monitoring equipment performance while in operation. Performs Corrective Maintenance, troubleshooting issues with onboard systems. Maintains an accurate inventory of onboard engineering department parts, and supplies.
Requirements
MMC credential: USCG licensed Chief Engineer for vessels up to 6,400 horsepower. TWIC card. Five (5) years in Maritime Industry as a qualified engineer with common knowledge of marine mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to create and maintain maintenance plans. Ability to supervise personnel and an operational schedule. Technical writing skills to assist in documenting new manufacturing and/or assembling instructions for new designs developed in-house. Experience in a military environment preferred, working with the military on a military facility is preferred. Expert level understanding of all Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds (lbs). All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation. U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment. Current Drivers License required; must be able to be insured through companys vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
