Description GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Engineer 2 for the Civil and Environmental Business Sector. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus as well as our flexible hybrid or remote work schedules. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team-oriented environment that will utilize their college education and past work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's environment. Responsibilities of this position will include leading civil site work consisting of design, permitting, and construction activities as well as beginning to establish client management and business development strategies.

Job Responsibilities :

Work on energy-related projects

Lead civil site engineering tasks

Interface with clients on civil site tasks

Lead assigned project teams

Lead development of civil site proposals

Task management on assigned projects (schedules, budgets, and quality of work)

Travel overnight to Project sites domestically, as needed. Travel is anticipated at less than 20% monthly.

Site Grading Plans

Erosion and Sediment Control Plans

Stormwater Management Plans

Hydrologic and Hydraulic / Drainage Plans

Utility Design and Relocation Plans

Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans

Permit Applications (earth disturbance permits, building permits, land development plans, high occupancy permits, etc.)

Access Road Section Development

Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Quality Control Plans

Construction Cost Estimates

Owner's Engineer Support During Construction

Field Investigations

Experience

6+ years of experience.

Education

B.S. Engineering

Certification/Licensure

Professional Engineer (P.E.) License

Technical Responsibilities

Designs a complete project, system, component, or process.

Prepares complete plans, specifications, and other project documents.

Designs and conducts investigations. Analyzes and interprets test data.

Project and Task Management

Assigns tasks to and directs other technical and non-technical staff.

Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.

Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.

Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.

Management, Supervision and Guidance

Receives general direction on key objectives. Receives guidance, when necessary, on unconventional/complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.

Assists with mentored experience to direct reports and junior staff through providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work products.

Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.

Communication, Teamwork and Leadership

Communicates effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Demonstrates empathy and critical listening skills.
