We are looking for a Closures Engineer to work onsite in Auburn Hills. This is a direct opportunity with our client.
The responsibilities include
Developing part designs from master sections and design surfaces for Closure components. Responsible for the design and development of weight efficient closure designs to deliver the highest level of performance in NVH, durability, and crash performance from a blank page through to production. Create and develop designs that are optimized for performance, weight, durability, and cost. Develop a testing plan to prove out design concepts and conduct physical testing to confirm the design meets performance targets.

Required Skills Strong technical understanding of automotive Closure systems, including design, development, and release processes. Related systems: Hood, Side Doors, Liftgate.
Understanding of automotive vehicle systems and their packaging requirements
Relevant experience and understanding of component manufacturing processes like sheet metal forming, roll forming, casting, and modern joining technologies.
Understanding of manufacturing feasibility/ design for manufacturing & assembly
Experience in managing engineering releases and change management for complex projects, including BOM management and related PLM activities.
Knowledge of applying various types of materials (steel, advanced high-strength steel, aluminum, adhesives/sealers)
Vehicle launch experience.
Collect lessons learnt from other projects on overall vehicle passenger compartment and ensure implementation
