Our beautiful coast will be your playground.
You’ll be responsible for the planning, design, and
delivery of coastal infrastructure and special projects, while also
contributing to the City’s long-term Coastal
Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Planning
(CHRMAP) strategy.
What You’ll Be
Doing
Lead the design and delivery of coastal infrastructure such as steps, protective barriers, jetties, of shore reefs, and seawalls.
Manage sand nourishment projects at Mettams Beach and Waterman’s Bay.
Collaborate with the Northern Beaches Alliance to monitor shoreline changes and analyse coastal data.
Provide technical advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on the environmental impacts for events being run along the coast
Manage and collaborate with government stakeholders on the delivery and planning of our coastal projects
Prepare technical reports, Council reports and project scope of works
Manage tenders, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects meet scope, budget, and community expectations.
Assist with funding applications for coastal hazard assessments /adaptations and civil projects
Contribute to special projects
Support with advocacy for major projects
Engage with Councillors and community members on high-profile and coastal projects.
What You’ll
Bring
We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Coastal
Engineering professional who’s passionate about creating
safe, healthy, and sustainable workplaces. You’ll ideally
bring:
A degree in Civil/Coastal Engineering (or equivalent).
Engineering experience in infrastructure design and delivery.
Demonstrated experience in coastal project implementation and CHRMAP principles.
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong influencing ability to drive the City’s outcomes
Knowledge of relevant legislation, engineering standards, and local government processes.
A proactive, community-focused mindset with a passion for coastal protection and innovative infrastructure works..
